Senior Scott Overallbecame Butler's first indoor track and field All-American with a sixth place finish in the mile run at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championship in Fayetteville, Ark., on Saturday (March 10). The All-America performance came one night after Overall set a Butler record in the indoor mile in the event prelims.

Overall crossed the finish line in the mile run in 4:01.25, just 0:00.01 behind Pablo Solares of Rice in fifth place. Leonel Manzano of Texas won the race in 3:59.90. One night earlier, Overall posted a school-record time of 4:00.52 in the mile prelims.

Overall was slated to also compete in the 3,000 meter run, which started less than 90 minutes after the completion of the mile run, but he dropped out of the race.
