Horizon League Women's Athlete of the Week

 

Victoria Mitchell

Butler, Senior, Mansfield, Australia

 

Mitchell placed first among 238 runners at the NCAA Pre-National Meet.  She crossed the finish line in 20:01.5, just edging Caroline Bierbaum of Columbia at 20:01.8.

Scott Overall

 Butler, Senior,  London, England

 

Overall finished 13th at the NCAA Pre-National Meet on Saturday, covering the 8K course in 24:02, only one second behind 12th place Galen Rupp of Orego

 

Other Top Men's Performances

 

Joel Hidalgo - Wright State, Junior, Beavercreek, Ohio

Hidalgo led the Raiders to a second-place team mark by finishing ninth with a time of 26:46 on Saturday at the Bowling Green Invitational.

 

Nick Kruse - Youngstown State, Junior, Napolean, Ohio

Kruse led the men's squad to a 32nd-place finish at the Penn State National Invite with a personal time of 26:46 on a 5.2 mile course.

 

Jim Sulzberger - UIC, Junior, Peotone, Ill.

Sulzberger placed 12th overall at the Bradley Classic, leading his team with a time of 25:43.48.

 

Mead Goedert - Detroit, Senior, Omaha, Neb.

Goedert finished 2nd in the race with a time of 25:43, marking his third sub-26 minute 8K race this season.

 

Josh Nygren - UW-Milwaukee, Senior, Marinette, Wis.

Nygren was the Panthers' top finisher at the NCAA Pre-National Meet on Saturday, finishing 71st in the race with a time of 24:56.

 

Other Top Women's Performances

 

Megan Feasel - Wright State, Senior, Mount Vernon, Ohio

Feasel was 27th on Saturday at the Bowling Green Invitational with a time of 19:12.

 

Emily Cicero - Youngstown State, Senior, Napolean, Ohio

Cicero finished 67th with a 5K time of 22:31 in the women's "A" race at the Penn State National Invitational.

 

Laura Macias - UIC, Junior, Chicago, Ill.

Macias led the Flames for a second consecutive week, this time posting a 22:18 mark in the 6,000 meter course at the Bradley Classic.

 

LeAnn Sarka - Detroit, Sophomore, Ft. Wayne, Ind.

Sarka finished 12th at the Falcon Invitational with a time of 18:28.  This was a personal best for her at the Bowling Green Course.

 

Angie Huebner - UW-Milwaukee, Sophomore, Green Bay, Wis.

Huebner paced the Panthers with a 117th-place finish at the NCAA Pre-National Meet. She finished as Milwaukee's top runner with a time of 22:16 on the 6,000m course.

 

Sherri Douglas - Cleveland State, Junior, Canton, Ohio

Douglas led the Vikings with a personal-best time of 19:47 at the Falcon Invitational.  She finished 32nd.
