No. 2 UW-Green Bay advanced into the second round of the winner's bracket with a 2-0 victory over No. 7 Wright State on Thursday at a blustery cold Ashwaubenon Sports Complex in Green Bay, Wis.

Both teams battled through five and half innings of scoreless softball until the Phoenix cracked the scoring column in the bottom of the fifth inning on a Rebekah Oestreich RBI double which knocked in teammate Dana Brockman. Oestreich eventually came around to score to put the Phoenix ahead 2-0.

Stephanie Hansen (6-6) closed out the Raiders the rest of the way as she picked up the shutout victory after scattering five hits and striking out five Raiders.
