Chicago, Ill. - The Loyola University Chicago women's golf team has been recognized by the National Golf Coaches Association as one of the top 25 academic squads in the country, it was announced today. Last season, the Ramblers compiled a cumulative team grade point average of 3.438.

The University of South Carolina had a team GPA of 3.752 to earn the NGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. Loyola was the only Horizon League women's golf team to be recognized, and along with Illinois Wesleyan University, was one of only two schools from the Land of Lincoln to rank among the top 25.

On the course, Loyola placed third at the 2005 Horizon League Championships and has placed third or higher in each of the three conference tournaments since it became a league-sponsored sport for the 2002-03 season.
