Softball Canada, the governing body for all of Canadian Softball, announced its selections for the 2007 Pan American and World University Games and Detroit junior catcher/infielder Kaleigh Rafter was selected for both squads. Rafter is the third Titan to be selected to a Canadian National Team in the last four years.

Rafter joins Michelle Baggio (2002 Pan-Am Games/2003 World Junior Championship) and Sarah Dickey (2003 World Junior Championship) as current Titans who have donned the Maple Leaf for international competition.

"I was completely shocked when I found out I was selected," said Rafter. "The talent that was there was amazing and to be considered in that group is awesome. It's going to be amazing to represent your country, play on that level and get to experience the Olympics."

The 2006 Horizon League Player of the Year, Rafter led Detroit in batting average (.359), doubles (12), runs batted in (35) and home runs (12) during the 2006 season. Her 12 home runs set a new single-season school record and moved her into third place all-time in the Titan record book. For her efforts, Rafter was named First Team All-League in addition to being named to the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region team. She is also a five-time selection to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and was honored as an Academic All-League selection following last season.
