Male Swimmer of the Week

Schantz won the 200 (1:44.03), 500 (4:38.47) and 1,000 free (9:36.35) as
CSU topped UW-Green Bay on Saturday.

Female Swimmer of the Week

Molly Finn, UW-Milwaukee
So.,
Pewaukee, Wis.
Finn played a key role in the Panthers dual win against Wheaton. She won two individual events and also helped the 400 freestyle relay team to a victory. She claimed victories in both the 200 butterfly (2:10.26) and 200 IM (2:11.54).

Male Diver of the Week

Chris Dalman, Cleveland State

Auburn, Wash.
Dalman won both diving events in the win over
UW-Green Bay on Saturday. Dalman recorded a one-meter score of 323.78, while posting a three-meter score of 326.93. He has not lost a diving event yet this season.         

Female Diver of the Week

Kelly Reese, Youngstown State
So., Canfield, Ohio
Reese won the one-meter board with a score of 223.51 and finished second in the three-meter with a score of 218.78 against Marshall.

Other Men's Top Performers for the Week

Cameron Seebeck

UIC

Fr., Eden Prairie, Minn.

Seebeck won his first collegiate event by taking the 100 free in :48.09 against Wright State on Saturday. Seebeck also took third in the 50 free (:22.11) and swam a :47.07 split as the third leg of UIC's 400-yard freestyle relay. 

 

Mark Pappalardo

UIC

Sr., LaGrange, Ill.

Pappalardo won the one-meter event at Wright State with a tally of 263.55 and took second on the three-meter board with a score of 261.97. 

 

Robby Leibold

UW-Milwaukee

So., Neenah, Wis.

Leibold had an impressive meet in the victory over Wheaton, claiming wins in both the 500 and 1000 freestyles. He opened the meet with a commanding win in the 1000 freestyle, coming in at 9:49.47 to top second-place by over 12 seconds. Then, in the 500 free, he added another victory, touching the wall in 4:48.30 to win by over six seconds. Both times were season-bests.

 

Joey Weber

UW-Green Bay

Sr., Eden Prairie, Minn.

Weber notched all three of his team's wins in Saturday's home meet against Cleveland State. The senior took home titles in the 100 backstroke (;51.74), 50 freestyle (;21.48) and the 200 backstroke (1:54.10).

Katie Bellew

Bellew won the 100 (1:00.37) and 200 fly (2:12.38) events as the Vikings lost, 179-97, at UW-Green Bay on Saturday.

 

Megan Rupe

Youngstown State

Fr., New Philadelphia, Ohio

Rupe won both sprint freestyle events and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay against Marshall in YSU's first dual of the season. Rupe out-touched Brittany Senn in the 50- and 100-free to chalk up 18 individual points. Rupe's time of :25.28 in the 50 free ranks her sixth in YSU history and the :55.06 finish in the 100 free ranks her eighth.

 

Kelly Hyatt

UIC

Sr., Shakopee, Minn.

Hyatt had two runner-up finishes at Wright State on Saturday. She took second behind teammate Andrea Giczewski in the 50 free with a time of :25.24, just .01 behind Giczewski's time, while finishing the 100 free in a second-place :54.96. Hyatt led off UIC's victorious 400 free relay with a split of :54.33.

 

Danielle DeGrand

UW-Green Bay

So., Green Bay, Wis.

DeGrand led a balanced Phoenix effort in the team's victory over Cleveland State as the squad won 13 of 16 events. She was the lone individual to post two wins while also swimming on a winning relay. After being a part of three pool records in a win over Wright State last Saturday, DeGrand added another top time to her resume in winning the 200 backstroke in 2:06.62. The Green Bay native also won the 50 freestyle (;24.96) and was a member of the victorious 400 medley relay (4:01.40).
