Minneapolis, Minn. - UIC fell in the first round of the WNIT to Minnesota, 97-54, in its first postseason appearance in school history at Williams Arena on Wednesday night. The Flames finish the season with a 19-13 overall mark, while the Golden Gophers improve to 17-15 and advance to play Western Kentucky in the second round.

Senior Jacquay Holmes became the 13th player in school history to score 1,000 career points with a team-high 22 against Minnesota. Holmes hit 10-of-14 from the field, while adding four rebounds, three steals and a team-high four assists on the night. Senior LaShonda Grant contributed 10 points and a team-best seven rebounds.

Sophomore Emily Fox played led the Gophers with 19 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and five steals. Freshman Korinne Campbell also recorded a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Ashley Ellis-Milan was just shy of being the third Minnesota player tallying a double-double at 15 points and nine rebounds. Senior Kelly Roysland (13 points) and freshman Katie Ohm (11) also scored in double figures.

Minnesota shot 58.3 percent (42-of-72) for the game, including shooting 60.5 percent in the second half. Ninety-seven points was the highest Minnesota scoring output of the season, and the 64th consecutive game the Gophers won when they scored 70 or more points.
