All eight Horizon League teams were in action this weekend, with many participating in tournaments around the nation.

Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week

Danielle Siefker
Cleveland State, MH, Jr. Kalida, Ohio
Siefker earned tournament MVP honors at the Duquesne Invitational after leading the Vikings to a trio of sweeps. She recorded a hitting percentage of .542 while also leading the Vikings with 13 blocks. Siefker leads the Horizon League with a .548 hitting percentage on the season and has yet to hit below .500 in any match. She recorded 11 kills and a season-high eight blocks against St. Francis.

Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week

Becky Peters
UW-Milwaukee, L, Fr., Germantown, Wis.
Peter's averaged 4.53 digs per game in four matches as the starting libero for the Panthers. She tallied a total of 68 digs on the weekend, including 55 in the Hokie Invitational, the most of any participant in the event

Other Top Performers for the Week of September 5

Rachel Kuebbing
UW-Milwaukee, OH, Sr., Burlington, Ken.
Kuebbing was named to the all-tournament team at the Hokie Fall Invitational while helping the Panthers to a pair of wins in the event and three wins on the week. She averaged 4.60 kills per game while adding 1.2 digs per game, She recorded a 20 kill performance against Charlotte on Sept. 1.

Jackie Rosen
UW-Green Bay, OH, Sr., West Allis, Wis.
Rosen earned All-Tournament team honors at the Northern Illinois Comfort Inn & Suites Invitational this past weekend. She averaged 5.36 kills per game while hitting at at .228 clip. She also averaged 2.64 digs per game.

Sarah Rauen
UW-Green Bay, L, Jr., Stacy, Minn.
Rauen paced the Phoenix back row effort with 4.21 digs per game this weekend at the Northern Illinois Comfort Inn & Suites Invitational.

Amanda Cindric
Youngstown State, DS/L, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Cindric averaged 4.54 digs per game last week at the Helping Hands Classic. She posted double figures in digs in three of the four matches and tallied a team-best 24 digs in YSU's 3-1 win over South Alabama. She also recorded 10 digs in YSU's loss to South Alabama and 16 in YSU's win over Murray State.

Taylor Gerlach
Wright State, L, Jr., Wheaton, Ill.
Gerlach recorded 14 digs in the Raider win over Georgia State on Saturday. She totaled 27 digs on the weekend at the Wyndham Atlanta/Georgia State Invitational.

Hilary Stromath
Loyola, MB, Sr., Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Senior Hilary Stromath led the Loyola attack at the Hampton Inn/Bama Bash over the weekend, pounding out 37 kills (3.36 kpg) to go with 14 blocks (1.27 bpg) in Loyola's three matches. Stromath tied for team-high honors with 12 kills in a tight four-game setback to Oklahoma and led the team with 19 put-aways in the finale against Indiana. She also added five blocks in each match.

Katarina Nedeljkovic
UIC, RS, So., Kragujevac, Serbia and Montenegro
Nedeljkovic helped UIC to its first victory of the season by averaging 16.3 kills and nine digs in four matches. She posted a double-double with a match-high 23 kills and 14 digs in a five-game loss to Bowling Green.

Liz Hrebic
UIC, L, So, Oak Lawn, Ill.
Hrebic led the Flames with 47 digs in four matches this weekend, including a match-high 17 dig performance against the College of Charleston. She also leads the Flames with 63 digs on the season.

Susana Henri
Butler, OH, Jr., Vancouver, B.C.
Susana Henri recorded 34 kills this weekend, leading the Bulldogs to a second place finish at the Falcon Invitational. She leads the Bulldogs with 3.38 kills per game on the season.

Megan Knightly
Butler, L, Sr., Chicago, Ill.
Knightly extended her double-digit dig streak to 35 games as she tallied a total of 52 digs on the weekend. She recorded a season-high 27 digs in the team's loss to Air Force on Sept. 2. Knightly was also given `All-Tournament Team" honors for her weekend performance.

Sarah Poling
Wright State, OH, Jr. St. Henry, Ohio
Despite missing last week with back spasms, Poling came back to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the Wydham Atlanta/Georgia State Invitational. She recorded a double-double against host Georgia State with 13 kills and a career-high 27 digs.

Cari Leslie
Youngstown State, OH., Jr., Grafton, Ohio
Leslie averaged 3.85 kills and 2.85 digs per game while leading the Penguins to a 2-2 record last week. She collected two double-doubles, a 10 kill, 10 dig performance against Murray State and a career-high 21 kills and 11 digs in a 3-1 over South Alabama.

Kuebbing, Moore named to All-Tournament Team at Hokie Invitational
Senior Rachel Kuebbing and junior Sarah Moore were named to the All-Tournament team at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Virginia this past weekend. Kuebbing recorded an average of 4.6 kills and 1.2 digs per game, while Moore tallied 15 kills in the win over Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 3. The Panthers took second place overall in the tournament. UW-Milwaukee was the only team to take even a game from the tournament champion Mississippi State.

UIC nabs first win; McCarthy adds consistency to Flames line-up.
UIC nabbed its first win of the season Saturday night as the Flames defeated Denver University 3-2 at the UIC Invitational. While Ambria Springer (21) and Katarina Nedeljkovic (23) led the team, in kills, junior outside hitter Maura McCarthy is quickly becoming one of the Flames mot consistent hitters. McCarthy has posted at least 11 kills in each of the Flames' matches this season.

Butler hosts Boilermakers before heading into rare quiet weekend.
The Butler Bulldogs welcome the Purdue Boilermakers to Hinkle Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The team's have split matches the past two seasons with each team winning on its home court. The match against the in-state rival is the only match of the week for the Bulldogs. This marks the only week of the season with no scheduled weekend competition for the Bulldogs.

Three Raiders record double-digit kills, hand Coach Trina Smith her first win.
Sarah Poling (13), Jenny Schultz (11) and Tara Geegan (10) all recorded double-digit kills in Wright State's win over Georgia State on Saturday, Sept. 3. The win marked the first for head coach Trina Smith.

UW-Green Bay team near tops of Horizon League categories.
The Phoenix rank near the top in three key Horizon League statistical categories so far this season. UWGB is third in hitting percentage with a .207 clip, third in assists per game with 14.12, and third in kills with 15.12 per game.

Cleveland States welcomes No. 12 Ohio State, Three named to All-Tournament Team.
Danielle Siefker, Emily Clark and Nickole Kennedy were all named to the All-Tournament team at the Duquesne Invitational. After dominating the tournament, Cleveland State must now welcome No. 12 Ohio State on Tuesday. The last time the Vikings faced a top 25 team was Sept. 6, 2002, when they fell to the Buckeyes in three straight. The last home match for the Vikings against a ranked team was a loss to Notre Dame 1994.

Loyola start mirrors last season; Zins heats up for Ramblers
After losses to Alabama, Indiana and Oklahoma, Loyola started a season 0-3 for the second consecutive season. Last year, however, the Ramblers turned it around to go 22-9 and advance to the NCAA Tournament. Sophomore Keily Zins slammed 36 kills (3.27 per game) in a productive weeked at the Bama Bash. She also contributed nine digs in the loss to Oklahoma.
