Player of the Week
Angie Muir, Butler, Defender/Midfielder, Carmel, Ind.
Freshman Angie Muir led the Bulldogs to a pair of wins over the weekend, posting three goals and two assists in the Bulldogs' 2-0 week. The Carmel, Ind., product had a goal and an assist in the team's 3-2 win over Xavier Friday, before doing one better Saturday with two goals and an assist in Butler's 3-0 win over Eastern Kentucky. Muir also fired 11 shots on the weekend. Muir leads the Bulldogs with 10 points on the season and has either scored or assisted on seven of the team's eight 2005 goals.

Mary Parker, Detroit, Junior, Midfielder, Troy, Mich.
Parker netted her first goal of the season, the game winner at Toledo on Friday. Parker's goal in the 16th minute proved to be the only tally in the Titans' 1-0 win over the Rockets.

Amy Lomas, Loyola, Midfielder, Sophomore, Lake Zurich, Ill.
Lomas recorded a goal and an assist to help Loyola knock off Eastern Illinois 3-1 in its home opener last Sunday in Glenview, Ill. The Lake Zurich, Ill. native scored the game-tying goal in the eighth minute on a header from six yards out and assisted on the Ramblers' final goal of the match.

Stephanie Gross, UW-Green Bay, Junior, Forward, Fond du Lac, Wis.
Gross had a goal and an assist in UW-Green Bay's win over Indiana State Sept. 2. On the year, the junior forward leads the Phoenix with two goals and an assist for five points.

Bailey Briggs, UW-Milwaukee, Freshman, Forward, Plainfield, Ill.
Briggs tallied her first collegiate goal and assist just 46 seconds apart to lead UWM past Drake 4-2 on Sunday. She scored the game-winner in the 42nd minute for Milwaukee, then assisted on an insurance goal for the Panthers just seconds later. The win was the team's first of the season.

Steph Comisar, Wright State, Junior, Goalkeeper, West Chester, Ohio
Comisar posted her 11.5 shutout of her career with a 1-0 victory over Western Kentucky. Comisar earned two wins this week, also defeating Northern Illinois 3-2, as she allowed two goals and faced 23 shots. Comisar has now posted three wins in a row in goal and has a 0.75 GAA for the season.

UW-Milwaukee Panthers
(1-1-1 overall, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
UWM's third and fourth goals on Sunday were just 46 seconds apart, tying the third-fastest time between Milwaukee goals in school history.

The Panthers scored four goals in the first half of Sunday's match, marking the most goals in a half since Oct. 1 of last season at Youngstown State.

Freshmen accounted for three of UWM's four goals, while also adding three assists. The Panthers' fourth goal was by another newcomer as well.

Detroit Titans
(2-1-0, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
Junior All-American candidate and 2004 Horizon League Player of the Year Mary Parker netted her first goal of the season in the Titans' 1-0 win at Toledo on Friday.

Freshman goalkeeper Katie Fortenberry has posted two shutouts in her first three games as a Titan. Fortenberry has blanked Big East foe DePaul 3-0 and Mid-American Conference member Toledo 1-0 on back-to-back Fridays.

The youth movement continues for Detroit as for the third straight game, seven freshmen have started the match and 9 of the 11 freshmen on the roster have seen time this season.

For the first time in four seasons, Detroit had a game cancelled this week as the Titans scheduled trip to Niagara had to be postponed due to the remnants of Hurricane Katrina that dropped heavy rains on the Buffalo/Niagara Falls, N.Y. area Tuesday and Wednesday. The last time Detroit had games cancelled was following the 9/11 attacks in 2001. Detroit and Niagara will make up the game on Oct. 3.

Butler Bulldogs
(2-2-0 overall, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
Sophomore Annalise Larkin was in net for both victories over the weekend. Her shutout Saturday against Eastern Kentucky was the first solo effort of her Butler career.

Butler and its opponents have each fired 54 shots and committed 48 fouls this season.

Indiana State is the first of three straight in-state, non-league opponents. The Bulldogs travel to Terre Haute Friday. All three matches are on the road.

UW-Green Bay Phoenix
(1-3-0 overall, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
UW-Green Bay heads south to participate in the McAlisters Deli South Louisiana Shootout Sept. 9-11, facing the host UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns Friday before a neutral site contest with McNees State Sept. 11.

The Phoenix improved its Alumni Day record to 12-6-0 with its 2-1 win over Indiana State. In the contest, sophomore Jennie Gorwitz scored her first collegiate goal, which also proved to be the match-winner.

Wright State Raiders
(3-1-0, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
The Raiders have now won three contests in a row and are off to the best start since posting a 3-1 mark during the 1996 season. The three game winning streak is the longest since the Raiders won four games in a row last season between Sept.17-28, a streak which included a victory over Western Kentucky.

Kim Chianese tallied the Raiders' first goal against Northern Illinois on Friday giving her 29 on her career, which moves her into a tie with Sharon Roscoe for third on the all-time goals list.

Loyola Ramblers
(1-1-0, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
The Ramblers head out West this weekend to compete at the Northern Arizona High Altitude Tournament in Flagstaff, Ariz.

LU senior Megan McDonald recorded her first point since the 2003 season when she assisted on Amy Lomas' game-tying goal in the first half against Eastern Illinois.

Loyola has posted a 7-5-1 all-time record in home openers and won its first home opener against Eastern Illinois since 1995.

Youngstown State Penguins
(0-4-0, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
Youngstown State took a road trip through Indiana this weekend as the Penguins met up with the Jaguars of IUPUI and then headed north to face Ball State.

Sadie Brookman scored the opening goal against IUPUI but the Jags responded with four additional goals to put the game out of reach.

Youngstown State will host the Penguin Classic this weekend at Stambaugh Stadium. YSU will face Manhattan on Friday and VMI on Sunday as part of the four team tournament.

Cleveland State Vikings
(0-3-0, 0-0-0 Horizon League)
Cleveland State hit the road this past weekend as it suffered a 3-0 loss to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Friday and then fell 5-1 to Ohio on Sunday.

Abbie Kakias scored the lone Viking goal of the weekend in the opening minutes of the second half of the Ohio match. The goal put CSU within one point of the Bobcats but Ohio answered with three straight goals for the win.

The 22-player roster consists of 11 freshmen, 10 sophomores and one junior.
