Wright State Falls to Louisville in Monday Baseball Action

Louisville, KY - The Wright State baseball team had its three-game winning streak snapped by Louisville Monday. The Raiders allowed 13 hits and walked 15 batters in the 19-2 loss to Louisville.




Getting the start for the Green and Gold was Nate Stevens who surrendered five runs on three hits and walked two batters before he could record an out. Stevens, now 2-6 on the season, was relieved by Chris Nighland who walked two and retired three batters to finish the first inning.




In all the Raiders used nine different pitchers, with Erik Steffen being the only Raider hurler to record more than three outs. Nighland, Matt Crawford, Cole Budinsky, Tommy Pemberton, Robert Barrett and Joe Smith all threw one inning and Travis Migliorini recorded one out for the Raiders staff.




Offensively the Raiders were paced by Ross Oeder, who hit his second home run of the season in the fifth inning, going one-for-three with a run scored and an RBI. The first run was manufactured when John Kopilchack doubled to start the second inning and was brought home after two groundouts to the right side of the infield.
