INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State University shortstop Ross Oeder has earned a spot on the Louisville Slugger All-America Second Team, as announced by the staff of Collegiate Baseball magazine on Wednesday (May 30). CB editor Lou Pavlovich Jr. announced the list of honorees as selected by the staff of the publication prior to the start of this week's NCAA Championship regionals.

Oeder, the Horizon League Player of the Year, batted .408 this season (second-best in the League) with eight home runs and 36 runs batted in. He recorded a loop-high 30 multi-hit games, and also topped the circuit charts with 25 stolen bases, 79 runs scored, 148 total bases, a. .496 on-base percentage and a .649 slugging percentage, while ranking second in hits (93) and doubles (23), third in homers and tenth in RBI.

The Sandusky, Ohio, native capped a stellar four-year career which includes four school records. He set Raider single-season marks for runs scored and fielding assists (170), along with career standards for assists (584) and times hit by pitch (52). In 219 career appearances (205 starts), Oeder batted .349 with 267 hits (second in school history), including 50 doubles, 13 triples, and 12 homers. He scored 197 runs and drove in 93 while collecting 51 stolen bases.

Eleven of the 17 players landing on the publication's top team earned Player or Pitcher of the Year honors in their respective conferences, including Pitcher of the Year David Price of Vanderbilt University and Player of the Year Tony Thomas from Florida State University. Price's 11-0 record and 2.71 earned-run average included a 2-1 victory over Horizon League champion University of Illinois at Chicago on March 9. He leads the nation with 175 strikeouts (in 123 innings) while Thomas hit .442 with 32 doubles, 11 homers, 49 RBI and 30 stolen bases for the Seminoles.

This marks the 11th year that Louisville Slugger has sponsored the Division I All-Americans. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee outfielder Mike Goetz was a First-Team All-America selection in 2006, while UIC outfielder Curtis Granderson was a Third-Team pick in 2002 and Cleveland State University second baseman Keith Lillash gained Third-Team notice in 2000.
