Wright State University Unveils New Athletics Training Center

Wright State University Athletics enters a new era today with the grand opening of the Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center, a new state-of-the-art athletics training center. Wright State athletes will enjoy the latest strength, cardiovascular, eye and reaction training equipment; a full basketball practice facility; digital video-equipped areas for scouting and coaching, player lounges and much more.

"We are proud of the community support the Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center represents for the Wright State academic and athletic programs," said Wright State President Kim Goldenberg. "This facility places Wright State at the forefront of the Horizon League and is among the finest in NCAA Division One. It will help us recruit from the nation's best student-athletes for both our men's and women's programs."

"The Setzer Pavilion/Mills-Morgan Center will be used to train and help educate all men and women in our 16 sports," said Michael Cusack, Wright State's director of athletics. "This collaborative effort has led to a first-class facility that will help us recruit competitive athletes and advance the Raider athletics program."

Local businessmen and loyal Raider fans Fred Setzer and Bob Mills were the key donors and led the fundraising campaign for the privately funded facility.

The project meets several goals of the athletic program, including a new gym to free up space in the overcrowded Nutter Center gymnasiums; a bigger and better strength and cardio room; and to provide athletes with the latest sports enhancement tools. The 28,000 square-foot pavilion also a includes a full-size gymnasium with six baskets; men's and women's basketball locker rooms, meeting rooms and player lounges; the Hall of Champions reception and lobby area complete with historical information on Wright State sports; and a new office complex for men's and women's basketball and athletics administration.
