The Horizon League has announced Valparaiso’s Paige Wright as Women’s Swimmer of the Week and Milwaukee’s Cassidy Pilo as Women’s Diver of the Week.

Paige Wright had an impressive weekend for the Crusaders throughout the three-day Calvin Winter Invite. In day two of the meet, the first year standout broke the school’s 24-year old 100-yard backstroke record with a time of 58.58. Wright finished 9th overall in the race and registered 20 points for her squad. The freshmen also participated in the 50 Yard Freestyle as well as the 800, 400, and 200 Yard Freestyle relay, contributing to the Crusaders total points of 399.
This is the first Swimmer of the Week honor Wright has received since competing in the collegiate level.
Cassidy Pilo/Milwaukee/Sophomore/Diver/ Sussex, Wisconsin
Cassidy Pilo had a strong diving performance this weekend as the Milwaukee Panthers placed third overall in the Miami Invitational. In the 1-meter dive, Pilo finished the meet in the top 10 out of 39 divers with a score of 241.75. The sophomore also received a score of 246.55 placing her 13th/44 in the 3-meter dive. Pilo tallied in the most points this weekend out of any UWM women’s diver and helped the Panthers reach a total three day score of 569 points. This is the second Diver of the Week honor that Pilo has received this season.
