INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee sophomore Steph Kostowicz (Oak Creek ,Wis.) is the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week while Wright State’s Emily Vogelpohl (Cincinnati, Ohio) is the Freshman of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21.

Milwaukee began the week with a road win at Valparaiso 70-60 in a game that saw for student-athletes reach double figures. The Panthers and Crusaders went back-and-forth most of the contest exchanging runs as each team recorded two of 10-plus points. Milwaukee outscored Valparaiso 22-18 in the fourth quarter en route to the win after shooting 46.6 percent in the game. The Panthers then collected their second win of the week against UIC 62-56 after a slow start and 14-6 setback in the first quarter. Milwaukee would outscore the Flames the next three frames and limit UIC to 29 percent shooting from the floor.

Kostowicz led Milwaukee in scoring in both contests as the sophomore posted 27 points at Valparaiso and 24 points at UIC to average 25.5 ppg for the week. In addition, she tallied her fifth double-double of the season at Valparaiso with 12 rebounds. For the week, Kostowicz averaged 9.5 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.0 spg and 1.0 bpg. The sophomore shot 19-for-27 (.704) from the field and 2-for-5 (.400) from beyond the arc in her 64 minutes of work.

Wright State defeated Oakland 79-63 at the Nutter Center Thursday as the squad outscored the Golden Grizzlies 28-13 in the final period to capture the win. The contest had 15 lead changes and 11 tied scores throughout the 40 minutes while Oakland led at the half 34-33. Two days later, Wright State fell in overtime to Detroit 95-93 as four players scored 17 or more points. The teams rotated quarters as Wright State posted strong first and third quarters and Detroit had impressive second and fourth periods and edged the Raiders by two in overtime.

Vogelpohl posted 21 points, five rebounds and two steals in the overtime loss to Detroit and four points and three assists over Oakland. The freshman shot 58.8 percent (10-for-17) from the field for the week while hitting two triples and a perfect 3-for-3 from the charity stripe. Vogelpohl averaged 12.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg and 1.0 spg in Wright State’s two games.

Wright State heads to Green Bay Thursday, Feb. 25 while Milwaukee hosts Northern Kentucky with both contests at 8:00 p.m. ET. The two teams then square off in Milwaukee on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 3:00 p.m. ET. All games will be streamed live on ESPN3.

Top Players of the Week:
Ruvanna Campbell, UIC (Sr., F): Tied her career-best of 24 rebounds versus Milwaukee while averaging 10.0 ppg and 15.5 rpg this week. Needs 66 rebounds to become the all-time leader in Horizon League history.
Kim Demmings, Wright State (Sr., G): Posted 34 points, seven rebounds and three assists versus Oakland and 21 points, five rebounds and five assists against Detroit.
Rosanna Reynolds, Detroit (Jr., G): Dished out 15 assists to break a 20-year single game record at Detroit. For the week, averaged 14.0 ppg, 9.5 apg, 6.5 rpg and 2.5 apg.
Christine Roush, Northern Kentucky (Sr., G): Scored 24 points over Detroit and Oakland while picking up six offensive rebounds to lead the team. In addition, grabbed four steals and played tenacious defense.
Olivia Voskuhl, Cleveland State (So., F): Led the team with 16 points and seven rebounds in win over Youngstown State while shooting 70 percent from the floor.

Top Freshmen of the Week:
Molly Glick, Northern Kentucky (F): Scored eight points and had two steals against Oakland in addition to three points over Detroit.
Lola Ristovski, Detroit (G): Hit three triples and scored 13 points over Northern Kentucky while grabbing six rebounds at Wright State.
