You’re originally from Bronx NY. and attended Southeastern Community College in North Carolina. What drew you to Milwaukee, Wis.?
It was the coaching staff. They made me feel at home when I got there. The players are very close knit I just felt like it was the perfect fit.

Last season you were named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team after averaging 14.4 points per game, good for eighth overall in the League. What’s it going to take to push your game to the next level?
A little bit of everything. Being a leader on the court, getting my guys in the right spot and just fighting and putting a fight out there and putting my best abilities to work.

Your senior year in high school you led your team to the Class AA semifinals, at Southeastern CC you won a District championship. You’re accustomed to winning. How difficult was last year's record of 8-24 and how much harder did it make you want to work this offseason?
It makes you want to work very hard, nobody likes to lose. Whatever you do you want to win; it was a tough season last season. Guys have worked very hard this year and I think we’re going to have a great season. We got guys that want to fight and buy in to Milwaukee basketball.

What’s the biggest thing you worked on this offseason?
A little bit of everything. Mostly I try to play better defense. I know that defense stuck out for us last season and rebounding was tough for us, so that was something I tried to improve on.

There are 11 new faces on the team this year, were name tags available at the first practice?
(Laughs) For a little bit. It’s just good to have a lot of guys this year. I know last year we lost a lot of guys to injury so it was tough. At the end of the year we didn’t have enough guys to practice so we were practicing with coaches. Now we have more than enough, we can play more physical in practice and not have to worry about injury.

Are there any games on the calendar this season that are circled?
Not really, every game is important, every last one. All 32 games. We want to get out there and win as many, if not all of our games.

Last season against Ohio Dominican on Dec. 29 you scored 34 points off the bench. The backstory is you were stuck in New York due to weather over the Holiday Break. Talk about that experience.
I was snowed in in New York, flights were getting cancelled. Every day I tried to get a flight out. I was able to make it back the night before the game at 11 at night, went into the gym that morning to get some shots up and I guess it worked out.

Who is the funniest guy on the team?
It’s got to be Matt Tiby, just his energy. He’s a great guy to be on the court with. When he’s on your team he’s a great guy to be with.

If there’s one class or professor you would recommend at Milwaukee, what or who would it be?
I would say my africology teacher, he’s just a great guy. He's good to talk to about different things.

This is your final season of eligibility, what are your plans after the season?
I would love to play professional after this. I just want to make this the best year I can make it and make it a winning year for us and for Milwaukee basketball.
