The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected a record 853 swimmers and divers for its Scholar All-America team. The selections recognize students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Fourteen Horizon League student-athletes -- Philipp Sikatzki and Tommi Wolst of Cleveland State; Patricia Aschan, Nikki Flynn, Takara Martin, Melissa Vandermeulen, Mitch Alters, Aleksander Danielewski, Tuomas Kiviluoma, Jeremiah Morren, Joseph Smith of Oakland; Emily Hayhow, Samantha TenEyck and Clement Quilliec from Wright State – were selected as All-Americans or earned Honorable Mention status.
In addition to the 853 first-team selections, 894 students were named as Honorable Mention selections. These students have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.
To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets.
The selections were drawn from 247 colleges and universities.
