UW-Milwaukee captured its third-consecutive Horizon League Men's Soccer Championship by defeating No. 3 Detroit 3-2 Sunday afternoon at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wis. Horizon League Player of the Year and the 2004 Tournament's Most Valuable Player Antou Jallow led the Panthers with two goals in the match. Jallow's first tally broke a scoreless tie at the 23:30 mark when he redirected a Neil Dombrowksi shot into the back of the net. The contest would remain 1-0 deep into the second half until Milwaukee's Dale Weiler put the Panthers ahead 2-0 in the 63rd minute. Moments later, Detroit's Andrew Ornoch would score on a penalty kick to make the score 2-1, but Jallow would also net a penalty kick at 71:17 mark to once again give the Panthers a commanding lead. Detroit's Ornoch would again score on a penalty kick, but the Titans could not find the tying goal in the final two minutes as the Panthers escaped with the title. Both teams combined for 32 shots and 16 corner kicks in the match. Erik Mickschl recorded six saves in goal for Milwaukee, while Sasha Boskovic stopped three shots for the Titans. Detroit ends its season with a 14-6 overall record while the Panthers await their destination in the NCAA Tournament with pairings being announced Monday live on ESPNEWS at 4:30 p.m. EST.

Three-seeded Detroit advanced into the Horizon League Championship match by upending two-seeded Butler on Friday afternoon at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wis. Stingy defense and several missed opportunities for both squads kept the match scoreless for the entire first half. The beginning of the second half saw the same results until the Titans' Ablaye Camara scored the eventual game-winner at the 67:45 mark to give Detroit a 1-0 advantage. Butler would find itself deep in Titan territory in the final minutes, but could not score the tying goal. Detroit goalkeeper Sasha Boskovic tallied one save and the shutout, while Butler's Evan Reinhardt also recorded one save in the loss. Detroit moves into the title match against top-seeded UW-Milwaukee on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee.

Top-seeded Milwaukee shutout four-seeded Wright State on Friday afternoon at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wis. The Panthers took advantage early with two goals in the first ten minutes of the contest. Chris Brisson found the back of the net in the seventh minute and Antou Jallow put the Panthers ahead 2-0 on a penalty kick at the 9:38 mark. The score would remain the same for nearly the entire match until Neil Dombrowski put the match out of reach with a tally in the 81st minute. Panther netminder Eric Mickschl recorded three saves and the shutout victory, while Jason Balach also stopped three shots for the Raiders. Milwaukee coasts into the championship match with No. 3 Detroit riding an eight-game win streak in Horizon League tournament play. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m. EST at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee.

Titan Field, Detroit, Mich.
Third-seeded Detroit defeated #6 UW-Green Bay, 1-0, on Saturday in the first-round of the Horizon League tournament. With the match scoreless late in the second half, the Titans' Andrew Ornoch netted the eventual game-winner as Detroit held off the Phoenix for the victory. UDM goalkeeper Sasha Boskovic recorded three saves and the shutout, while UWGB netminder Pat Czuprynski also tallied three saves on the day. Detroit advances to next Friday's semifinal against Butler at 12:00 p.m. EST at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wis.

Late in match with the contest already secure, UWM's Antou Jallow netted his 55th career goal, making him the most prolific scorer in Horizon League men's soccer history. #4 Wright State slipped past #5 UIC, 2-1, on Saturday night in the first round of the Horizon League tournament. The Raiders grabbed an early lead on a Ricky Strong tally at the 7:56 mark of the opening half. UIC would knot the match at 1-1 when Pavle Dundjer netted a goal in the 50th minute, but Ricky Strong would once again find the back of the net for the eventual game-winner at 50:00 mark to give WSU the victory. Raider netminder Jason Balach recorded seven saves and the shutout, while Jeff Engelbrecht made three saves for the Flames. Wright State advances to play top seeded Milwaukee next Friday at 2:30 p.m. EST at Engelmann Field in Milwaukee, Wis.
