2009-10 Men's Basketball Schedule (HTML)

INDIANAPOLIS --- The complete Horizon League men's basketball composite schedule is now available for the 2009-10 season, which will tip off Nov. 11 when the University of Detroit Mercy plays at the University of California in the Coaches v. Cancer event.

The conference schedule will begin with four games on Dec. 3, including defending champion Cleveland State University at Wright State University, which will be aired on ESPNU. Other games that night are Youngstown State University at Detroit, Loyola University Chicago at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the University of Illinois at Chicago at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Butler University -- last year's regular-season champion -- will host rival Valparaiso University Dec. 5 in those teams' League opener.

The 2010 Speedway Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship will begin March 2 with four first-round games at campus sites. The second round and semifinals will be played March 5-6 at the number-one seed, followed by the championship game March 9 at the higher remaining seed. The semifinals will be broadcast on ESPNU and the championship on ESPN as part of "Championship Week."

The League's tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship, which will culminate with the Final Four April 3-5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Horizon League and Butler are co-hosts for the national championship.

A minimum of 19 Horizon League men's basketball games will be broadcast on ESPN networks, including eight conference match-ups. Additional games could be televised as part of the eighth annual BracketBusters event Feb. 19-20 on ESPN2 or ESPNU.
