With the women's soccer season set to begin on Friday, these are the players to watch in the Horizon League.

Flo Beshiri, UIC
Junior, Midfielder/Forward

Beshiri made two appearances for Creighton as a freshman in 2012 before transferring to UIC to join the Flames inaugural team. A native of Downers Grove, Ill., she led her high school to a third-place finish in the state as a senior, scoring 15 goals and adding 18 assists.

Julianne Boyle, Oakland
Senior, Midfielder

Boyle missed the Golden Grizzlies inaugural season in the Horizon League last year, but returns to the field in 2014. In 2012, Boyle started all 21 of Oakland's matches and earned All-Summit League second team honors. She was named MVP of the Summit League Tournament and also scored Oakland's lone goal in its match against Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament. She finished the year with two goals and three assists.

Jasmine Carrera, UIC
Sophomore, Midfielder/Forward

A native of Chicago, Carrera helped lead her high school Lane Tech to four straight Chicago Public League Premier Division Conference Championships and was named All-CIty all four seasons. She was named to the All-State team her final three years of high school. She scored 119 goals in her high school career.

Krissy Dorre, Milwaukee

Dorre started all 20 games last season and led the Panthers in in goals (10), assists (7) and points (27). She scored one goal in the HL Championship and assisted on the game-winning goal with :23 seconds remaining in the contest. She scored the game-winning goal in the semifinal contest as she was named to the All-Tournament team. She's scored 20 career goals.

Kelsey Draper, Valparaiso

Draper started all 17 matches she appeared in last year for the Crusaders. She tallied eight shot attempts on the season, including three on goal. She started 11 matches in 2012 before suffering an injury and missing the rest of the season. As a freshman, she started all 19 matches and had one goal and one assist.

Ashley Gogolin, Wright State
Junior, Midfielder

Gogolin saw action in 18 games last year and was named to the HL All-Tournament team after helping lead the Raiders to the semifinals.

Chelsey Haney, Youngstown State

Haney started all 18 games for the Penguins last season. She scored three goals and had two assists to finish with eight points. She led the team with 60 shots last season. In 2012, she led YSU with five goals and 13 points. She enters her final year with eight career goals and five assists for 21 total points, which are tied for ninth all-time. Her eight goals and five assists also ranked tied for ninth in school history.

Vickie Havas, Cleveland State

After just two seasons at CSU, Havas ranks third in school history in career goals (12) and points (33) and fourth in assists (9). She has two of the top-six single-season point marks in CSU history. In 2013, Havas ranked sixth in league in goals (7) and points (18) and eighth in assists (4).

Kyla Kellermann, Oakland
Senior, Forward

An All-Tournament and All-Academic team selection last year, Kellermann led the Golden Grizzlies with eight goals and four assists for 20 points in 2013. She started 19 of OU's 21 games and scored two game-winning goals, while also assisting on the game-winning goal in Oakland's quarterfinal win in the HL Tournament. The 2012 Summit League Offensive Player of the Year enters her final year at Oakland with 22 career goals.

Hannah Kernen, Green Bay

Kernen started 16 of the 17 matches for the Phoenix last season and recorded a team-best three goals. She attempted 42 shots, including 17 on goal. She scored the game-winning goal in GB's match versus Western Illinois.

Tyesha Kizer, Youngstown State

Kizer did not play in 2013 due to injury. In 2012, she played in all 17 games and made eight starts. She scored three goals, including the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Duquesne.

Kelly Lewers, Milwaukee

Lewers was second on the Panthers last season with nine goals and six assists. She scored the game-winning goal for UWM with :23 seconds remaining in the championship match of the 2013 HL Tournament. She was twice named HL Offensive Player of the Week in 2013. She enters her senior season with 16 career goals.

Alyssa Lotito, Detroit
Senior, Defender

Lotito led the Horizon League with 10 assists in the regular season last year and added another in the HL Tournament. She was ranked as high as 12th in the NCAA last season in assists as she finished fifth on UDM's all-time single season assist list.

Allie Metzler, Wright State

Metzler led a defense that allowed just 17 goals and a 0.88 goals against average last season. The Raiders recorded nine shutouts in 18 outings. Metzler also recorded one assist for WSU in 2013.

Elise Olson, Green Bay
Senior, Defender

Olson appeared in all 17 games for GB last season, making 14 starts. She helped lead a defense that posted a 1.12 goals-against average. Olson had four shot attempts on the year. She started all 17 contests for the Phoenix in 2012.

Alyssa Riley, Detroit

Riley started 19 games last season for the Titans and finished with six goals and four assists for 16 points. She led Detroit in goals and points and finished second on the team in assists and overall shots in 2013. She scored two game-winning goals and was also a member of the All-Tournament team.

Grace Rogers, Valparaiso
Freshman, Defender

The lone freshman on the watch list, Rogers was a two-time All-Conference selection and honorable mention All-State player at Woodbury (Minn.) High School.

Sarah Wood, Cleveland State
Junior, Goalkeeper

Wood led the Horizon League and was 13th in the nation with 120 saves, the fourth most in a season in school history, in 2013. She ranked 15th in the country in saves per game (7.06) and 21st in save percentage (.851).
