GREEN BAY, Wis. -- At just the midway point of his collegiate career, 19-year-old big man Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) is already establishing himself as one of the elite players in the history of Green Bay men's basketball.

The 7-foot-1 Brown has been a consistent force on both ends of the court during his first two seasons, accumulating more blocked shots (156) and rebounds (425) than any Green Bay player through his sophomore year while pouring in the fourth-most points (739) through a sophomore season in the Division I era.

Brown turned in one of the school's most successful sophomore campaigns in 2011-12, shattering the program's single season (89) and career (156) blocks records while leading the Phoenix in points (13.8) and rebounds (8.2) and ranking among the league's best in several statistical categories. For his efforts, Brown was a First-Team All-Horizon League pick, becoming the first Phoenix sophomore to receive first-team honors since Jeff Nordgaard in 1993-94, and was also named to the NABC All-District 12 Second Team.

Brown earned All-Newcomer honors as a freshman in 2010-11 after starting all 32 games, averaging 10.2 points per contest and setting his original single season blocks record of 67.

Below is an in-depth look at Brown's first two seasons by the numbers:

156 - Brown's career blocks total after just 62 games in a Phoenix uniform. Brown passed former Green Bay standout Terry Evans (132 from 2005-09) on the career blocks list when he rejected a pair of shots against Milwaukee on Feb. 4.

89 - Brown's single season blocks total in 2011-12, breaking the previous school record of 67 that he set during his freshman campaign. His 89 rejections nearly doubled the record of 47 that stood before he arrived on campus.

18 - Years since a Phoenix sophomore earned first-team all-conference honors. Brown was a First-Team All-Horizon League selection this season, the first Green Bay sophomore to earn such honors since Jeff Nordgaard in 1993-94.

739 - Number of points Brown has scored through his first two seasons at Green Bay. The total ranks fourth in school history through a player's sophomore campaign in the Division I era, trailing only Tony Bennett (1,015 in 1988-90), Richard Sims (858 in 1983-85) and Mike Schachtner (812 in 2005-07).

413 - Total points scored by Brown in his sophomore season. Only Nordgaard, Bennett and Schachtner scored more as sophomores since the program turned Division I in 1981.

425 - Rebounds grabbed by Brown in his first two seasons, the most by a Phoenix player through a sophomore campaign in the Division I era and third most in school history.

9 - Brown's national ranking in blocks per game in 2011-12. The sophomore finished the season tied for ninth in the NCAA with 2.97 swats per contest.

11 - Number of shots Brown blocked in Green Bay's 57-56 win over Wright State at the Resch Center on Jan. 15. The 11 swats were the most by any Division I player in a single game this season and broke the Horizon League, school and facility records for most blocks in a game.

1,000 - Number of Alec Brown bobbleheads given away to fans at the Resch Center against Milwaukee on Feb. 4.

142 - Led by Brown, the number of blocks the Phoenix recorded in 2011-12, breaking the school record of 119 set the previous season.

41 - Number of double-figure scoring efforts by Brown in his 62 career games. Brown reached double-digits 23 times as a sophomore in 2011-12 and 18 times during his freshman campaign - including in each of his final six contests.

10 - Brown ranked in the top 10 in multiple Horizon League statistical categories in 2011-12, including first in rebounding (8.4), second in blocks (3.2), sixth in scoring (13.9) and seventh in free throw percentage (76.1).

54 - Number of games out of 62 in which Brown has recorded at least one block. Brown blocked at least one shot in 27 of 30 games in 2011-12 and had four or more blocks in 10 games.

32 - Number of games started (32-32) by Brown in 2010-11, the second most starts by a Phoenix freshman. Brown was also the only player to start every game for Green Bay that season.

325 - Total points scored by Brown as a freshman, the most by a Phoenix rookie since Chris Sager scored 331 in 2000-01.

1 - Brown was the first recruit signed by head coach Brian Wardle, who will begin his third season in 2012-13.

85 - Standing 7-foot-1, Brown is 85 inches tall - the tallest player to ever wear a Green Bay uniform.

20 - Brown will not turn 20 until late July, meaning all of the above accomplishments happened during his teenage years.
