Athletes of the Week (week of Sept. 26)

Cleveland State

Grace Kauth

Hometown: Vandalia, Ohio

Kauth tallied 20 digs and 13 blocks as the Vikings went 2-0 this past weekend. The senior registered a career high seven blocks in Cleveland State’s win over Northern Kentucky while posting 10 digs.

Wright State

Katie Klusman

Hometown: Cincinnati, OH

Klusman notched 31 kills with a .325 hitting percentage over a two game span for the Raiders. The junior had .375 and 14 kills in the team’s victory over Youngstown State.

Cory Griffith

Hometown: Lemont, Ill

Griffith registered two goals on the shots on goal as the Crusaders went 2-0 for the week. The forward’s golden goal over Milwaukee tied the program record with four match-winning goals on the year.

Wright State

Katie Ruff

Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO

Ruff played all 181 minutes in the Raiders’ two victories. The senior made seven saves, averaging 0.5 goals allowed average including one shutout against Cleveland State.

Oakland

Rachel Levy

Hometown: Midland, Mich.

Levy led the Golden Grizzlies to a fourth place team finish at the Notre Dame Invitational over the weekend. The sophomore took seventh overall out of 222 runners and crossed the 5K finish line in a time of 17:30.1.

Detroit Mercy

Ben Kendell

Hometown: Huntington Woods, Mich.

Kendell broke the Detroit Mercy school record in the 8K with a time of 24:15. The junior placed 10 overall at the Louisville Classic while notching his third-straight top-10 effort on the year.

Valparaiso

Kendan Anderson

Hometown: Portmore, Jamaica

Anderson scored two match-winners for Valparaiso this week in games against Eastern Illinois and Oakland. The senior transfer collected five points on two goals and one assist and is tied for second on the team in point despite only playing two games due to injury.

Milwaukee

Sam Glass

Hometown:

Glass led the Panthers to a 2-0 record on the week while recording one shutout. The freshman notched a season-high eight saves against Bradley and added five more versus conference-foe Detroit. For the week, Glass posted a .50 goals-against average in 180 minutes of work.
