INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler University senior Andy Baker and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior Abbie Zaspel have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Oct. 12-18.
Baker, a native of Minehead, U.K., finished second out of 236 competitors with an 8K time of 23:45.4 on Friday at the NCAA Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
Zaspel, a native of Burlington, Wis., placed 15th out of 180 runners with a 6K time of 22:17.0 on Friday at the Bradley Classic in Peoria, Ill.
Butler placed 13th in a 34-team men's field with 388 points, while Milwaukee finished 10th in a 19-team women's field with 271 points. Both squads are idle until the Horizon League Championships, which will be held on Oct. 31 at Kensington Metroparks in Milford, Mich.
