Cedrick Banks
of UIC and Brandon Polk of Butler have been named the Horizon League Co-Players of the Week for Feb. 28.


Banks, a senior guard, averaged 35.5 points per game, including a career-high 39 in an 81-68 win over Wright State Feb. 23, as the Flames went 1-1 last week. Against the Raiders, he was 15-of-27 from the field, including 8-of-16 from three-point range. Banks then netted a game-high 28 points with five rebounds in an 86-82 loss at Butler Feb. 26. For the week, he shot 54 percent (25-of-46) from the floor and 46 percent (13-of-28) from beyond the arc.


In addition, Banks surpassed the 2,000-point mark with his first basket against Butler and broke Kenny Williams' (1990-94) school record of 2,025 points later in the game.


Polk, a junior forward, averaged 25.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in leading Butler to a 2-0 record for the week. He scored a career-high 24 points in a 79-59 victory at Youngstown State Feb. 23 and then bettered that mark with 27 points in the Bulldogs' 86-82 win over UIC Feb. 26 when he was 10-of-14 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line. The League leader in field-goal percentage (.586), he was 20-of-31 from the floor for a 65 percent rate last week.

Drew Burleson
Wright State, Sophomore, Forward, Wheelersburg, Ohio

Burleson averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for Wright State which went 1-1 last week. He had 19 points and seven rebounds in the Raiders' 81-68 loss at UIC Feb. 23 and then recorded 18 points and four rebounds in a 94-80 victory over UW-Green Bay Feb. 27 to end the regular season.

Brandon Cotton
Detroit, Sophomore, Guard, Detroit, Mich.
Cotton averaged 18.5 points per game as the Titans posted back-to-back wins over UW-Green Bay (68-56) and Youngstown State (62-47) to close the regular season. Against UWGB Feb. 23, he scored 18 points and added three assists in the upset win. In the victory over the Penguins Feb. 26, Cotton finished with 19 points.

Ed McCants
UW-Milwaukee, Senior, Guard, Marion, Ohio
In UW-Milwaukee's lone game last week, McCants turned in an all-around effort in the Panthers 81-59 victory over Cleveland State Feb. 26 with 21 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists in just 25 minutes of action.

Javier Mendiburu
UW-Green Bay, Senior, Guard, Badalona, Spain
Mendiburu averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game in a pair of UW-Green Bay losses last week. He had 17 points, nine assists and three rebounds in a 68-56 loss to Detroit Feb. 23 and followed with 16 points, six assists and six rebounds in a 94-80 defeat at Wright State Feb. 27.

Raheem Moss
Cleveland State, Sophomore, Guard, Columbus, Ohio
Moss averaged 22.5 points per game during an 0-2 week for Cleveland State. That included a career-high 27 points against regular-season champion UW-Milwaukee Feb. 26. He had netted 18 points earlier in the week in a 67-63 loss to Loyola. For the week he connected on nine three-pointers.

Blake Schilb
Loyola, Sophomore, Forward, Rantoul, Ill.
In Loyola's only game of the final week, Schilb scored 27 points on 9-of-15 shooting while adding eight rebounds and six assists in a 67-73 victory over Cleveland State Feb. 23.

Brian Radakovich
Youngstown State, Senior, Forward, Steubenville, Ohio
Radakovich averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks shots as Youngstown State went 0-2 last week. He scored 14 points against Butler Feb. 23 and had a team-high 12 at Detroit. For the week, she made 9-of-14 (.643) field-goal attempts.
