INDIANAPOLIS -- Bill Potter has been named Director of Communications for the Horizon League. Potter will begin his duties on Sept. 20.
Potter comes to the League from IUPUI, where he has been Sports Information Director since 2006. At IUPUI, Potter supervised communications for six sports and assisted in marketing and promotions efforts. He also was involved in two redesigns of IUPUI’s sports website and was involved in the development of web streaming of IUPUI athletics.
At the Horizon League, Potter will serve as the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball, swimming and diving and baseball.
“Bill comes to us with high recommendations for his intellect and work ethic,” said Horizon League Commissioner Jon LeCrone. “He will be an outstanding addition to the staff and an outstanding liaison to our League’s sports information directors.”
Potter is an Indianapolis native and a graduate of Cathedral High School and Boston College. Prior to his work at IUPUI, he served as a media relations assistant with the International League’s Indianapolis Indians.
