The bracket for the 2005 American Family Insurance Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship was established Sunday evening following the completion of the regular season earlier in the day.


The championship begins with first-round games on the campuses of the fourth through sixth seeds Tuesday, March 1. In those games, sixth-seed Wright State (14-14, 8-8) will host seventh-seed Butler (13-14, 7-9) at 7 p.m. EST, fourth-seed Loyola (11-16, 8-8) will host ninth-seed Youngstown State (5-22, 2-14) at 8 p.m. EST and fifth-seed UIC (14-13, 8-8), the defending tournament champion, will host eighth-seed Cleveland State (9-16, 6-10) at 8 p.m. EST.


The action then shifts to the U.S. Cellular Arena in downtown Milwaukee for the quarterfinals and semifinals Friday and Saturday, March 4-5. Third-seed Detroit (12-15, 9-7), which received a first-round bye, will play the winner of the Butler-Wright State game Friday at 5:30 p.m. EST, followed by the winners of the other two first-round games at 8 p.m. EST.


Awaiting those two winners are regular-season champion and top-seed UW-Milwaukee (22-5, 14-2) and second-seed UW-Green Bay (17-10, 10-6), who earned byes to Saturday's semifinals. Those games will tip-off at 5:30 and 8 p.m. EST and be televised live on FSN.


The championship game will be played Tuesday, March 8, at the higher remaining seed and will be televised live on ESPN as part of "Championship Week" at 9:05 p.m. EST.
