Finishing off the Fall academic semester was a great relief for our team this past month since it meant a break from school and a greater focus on basketball. We traveled to Niagara to play the Purple Eagles and our focus proved to be steady as we took over the game and won by an 11-point margin.

In our down time, aside from Christmas shopping for our families, there is a lot of movie watching...especially Christmas movies! My favorite is "Elf." :) Our team also took some time out to visit St.Patrick's Church in downtown Cleveland to help serve meals to the homeless and needy families. It was truly a humbling experience and we were glad to take part in lending a hand. It also made us realize how fortunate we are to share meals together as a team and also how lucky we are to have family during the holidays.

This past Saturday we took on another Big Ten opponent. After falling short in the past two meetings against higher ranked opponents, Marquette and Wisconsin, we knew this game versus Indiana was the one to get. It took all 40 minutes...plus an overtime period...but we were victorious over the Hoosiers, 77-75. We were thrilled with the win on our home court, as it was sort of an early Christmas present to ourselves!

After defeating Lake Erie on Wednesday, we're celebrating the holidays at home. I hope everyone has a good break! You can bet we'll be enjoying ours! :)
