INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State sophomore forward Brandi Brown has been named Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan 10.
Brown notched two double-doubles as the Penguins split a pair of road games last week.
The Pomona, Calif., native had a career-high tying 29 points and a season-high 18 rebounds in 61-55 victory over the Crusaders. She then posted 21 points and ten boards against the undefeated Bulldogs.
With the win at Valpo, Brown helped Youngstown State snap losing streaks of 39 on the road and 22 conference games.
Brown is tied for first in the League in scoring, with 17.6 points per game, and second in rebounding at 9.4 boards per contest.
Youngstown State welcomes Wright State on Thursday for a 5:15pm ET contest. The Penguins then host Detroit on Saturday in a 4:35pm tipoff.
