The NCAA announced its 48-team field for the 2009 Men's Soccer Championship on Monday, Nov. 16.  Among Horizon League schools, No. 23 Butler (14-2-2) and Green Bay (14-2-3) will compete in this year's tournament with the Phoenix claiming the conference's automatic bid by winning the League title.

The Bulldogs received a first-round bye and will travel to the winner of Indiana (10-9-1) versus No. 7 Louisville (13-2-4) on Sunday afternoon for a second-round match.

Green Bay will take on No. 19 Notre Dame (10-7-4) in South Bend, Ind. on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET in Round 1.  The winner of this contest will kickoff against No. 16 Northwestern (10-4-4) in Evanston, Ill. on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

The Horizon League has produced two NCAA tournament teams twice in the past four years.  In 2007, UIC proved itself as one of the nation's top programs by advancing to the Elite Eight, following that up with a Sweet Sixteen run last season.

Green Bay and Butler squared off for the Horizon League Title this past Sunday with the Phoenix gaining a 3-2 penalty kick advantage to claim the conference crown for the first time in school history.
