Butler 50, Youngstown State 37
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Brandon Polk scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Butler to a 50-37 win over Horizon Conference opponent Youngstown Wednesday night.
A.J. Graves added 10 points for Butler (7-8, 2-3), which led 19-16 at halftime.
Youngstown State (3-14, 1-6) took a brief 24-22 lead with 16:15 left in the second half on a 3-pointer by Quin Humphrey, who led the team with 15 points.
But Butler retook the lead 27-24 less than a minute later on a 3-pointer by Bruce Horan. A 3-pointer by Derrick Harris with 13:03 left tied the score at 29, but afterward Butler went on a 20-8 run for the rest of the game.
Both teams shot about 40 percent for the game, but Butler had an edge in foul shots, making 8-of-10 for the game, compared with 3-of-5 for the Penguins.
Brian Radakovich had 10 points and nine rebounds for Youngstown State.
