CHICAGO, Ill. – Butler University claimed the 2010 Men’s Horizon League Cross Country title on Saturday afternoon at Montrose Harbor Beach Park in Chicago, Ill. The Bulldogs have won 13 consecutive Horizon League cross country championships.

 Butler tallied 22 points, taking seven out of the 14 spots on the All-Horizon Leage teams. Bulldog senior, Kris Gauson won the 8K race in a time of 24:20.57. Gauson was followed by teammate Ross Clarke, the 2010 Men’s Newcomer of the Year. Clarke crossed the finish line just three seconds behind Gauson.

 UIC’s junior Brian Denk finished third in a time of 24:27.64, followed by Detroit’s Senior Patrick Liederbach (24:32.10).

 Loyola finished second in team standings with 69 points, followed by UIC (83),  Milwuakke (118) and Detroit (121).
