Rebounding from a disappointing loss at Indiana, Butler took care of business against Oakland City, 98-53, on Tuesday night.
Butler (4-3) has six players finish in double figures, as Andrew Smeathers led the way with 17 points, including three three-pointers in a 43-second span of the second half. All five of Smeathers' triples came in the final 6:43 of the game.
Both Andrew Smith and Kameron Woods tallied double-doubles. Smith finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Woods collected 10 and 10 in his first career start. Head Coach Brad Stevens mixed up his starting lineup, with both Woods and fellow freshman Roosevelt Jones each moving into the starting five.
Chase Stigall came off the bench to record 15 points, while Erik Fromm had a career-high 10. Butler was able to play its entire bench, with 10 of 13 Bulldogs hitting a bucket in the game.
Chrishawn Hopkins was the sixth Bulldog in double figures, recording 11 points. The Bulldogs shot 46 percent in the game, aided by an 18-for-29 shooting effort in the second half. Stigall and Smeathers combined to go 9-for-12 from three-point range in the final 20 minutes of play.
