INDIANAPOLIS – Butler’s Katie Clark and Ross Clarke are the 2010 Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Year in a vote of the League’s head coaches.

Clark, a sophomore from Hull, U.K., has claimed her second-consecutive Athlete of the Year Award. She has also earned First-Team All-Horizon League and has been runner-up in the Horizon League Cross Country Championship meet for the second year in a row. Clark earned a spot on the 2010 All-Great Lakes Region team, placing 14th with a time of 21:00.05.

Clarke, a freshman from Essex, England is the ninth straight Butler male to earn the Cross Country Athlete of the Year award. In one year, he has been honored with being the Horizon League Newcomer of the Year, a spot on the First-Team All-Horizon League and runner-up at the 2010 Horizon League Cross Country Championship. Clarke is also a member of the All-Great Lakes Region team, placing 18thin a time of 30:44.10.

Both were Butler and Horizon League top finishers in the 2010 Great Lakes Regional in Rochester, Michigan on Nov. 13.
