INDIANAPOLIS – Butler University junior Brett Heinz has been named Horizon League Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 19-25. Heinz takes home his first career weekly accolade.
The Leawood, Kansas, native played an integral role in Butler’s come-from-behind victory over DePaul University on Wednesday, recording assists on the game-tying and -winning goals. The Bulldogs eventually triumphed, 3-1, over the Blue Demons who sat No. 18 in the RPI.
The defender’s two assists were his first of the season as he claims the second weekly award for Butler this season with teammate Boris Gatzky earning the other (Oct. 12).
The Bulldogs, who improve to 10-1-1 overall, return to action on Tuesday against University of Detroit Mercy as they look to extend their seven-game unbeaten streak.
