INDIANAPOLIS –Butler’s Craig Gundersen and Marbeth Shiell have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 13-19.
Gundersen, a native of Liverpool, England, helped the Bulldogs to a fourth-place finish out of a pool of 22 teams at the Indiana Intercollegiate on Friday (Sept. 17). He finished the 8K course in a time of 24:52.40, good for fourth-place out of 185 runners.
Shiell, a native of Edinburgh, Scotland, led the Bulldogs to a second-place finish out of 20 teams on Friday. She took fourth place out of 179 runners with a 5K time of 17:45.50, just eight seconds behind individual champion, Chelsea Blanchard from Indiana.
Butler returns to action Oct. 1 at the Notre Dame Invitational.
