Butler's Lynnsey and Lauren Showers Appear In <i>Sports Illustrated</i>

Indianapolis, Ind. - Butler golfers Lynnsey and Lauren Showers are featured in the June 26, 2006, edition of Sports Illustrated. The two sisters, who tied for first place at the 2006 Horizon League Women's Golf Championship, appear in the "Faces in the Crowd" column.

Lynnsey, a junior, was named Horizon League Women's Golf Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year. Lauren, a freshman, was named League Newcomer of the Year. In a playoff for medalist honors at the League tournament, Lauren defeated Lynnsey to capture the league's top spot. Lynnsey had won medalist honors in the previous two Horizon League Championships.

The two sisters helped lead Butler to a second consecutive Horizon League women's golf championship.
