Butler's Roeder and Clark Named Cross Country Athletes of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS –Butler’s Madison Roeder and Katie Clark have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 27 - Oct. 3.
Roeder, a senior from Fishers, Ind., competed in the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, (Oct. 1) running against top-ranked cross country programs in the blue race. He completed the 8K in a time of 24:32.0, finishing 31st out of 160 runners. Butler finished 12th out of 21 teams, one spot ahead of No. 14 ranked Villanova. Oregon, currently ranked 3rd in the country took first.
Clark, a sophomore from Hull, U.K., competed in the women’s blue race at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, taking 46th out of 194 runners. She finished the 5K in a time of 17:29, leading her team to a 17thplace finish out of 24 teams, consisting of top ranked Villanova and No. 5 Oregon.
Butler returns to action on Oct. 16th, competing in the Pre-Nationals at Terre Haute, Ind.
