INDIANAPOLIS -- UIC forward Ruvanna Campbell (Chicago, Ill.) has been named the Horizon League women’s basketball Player of the Week and Milwaukee guard Bre’Zall Warren (Slidell, La.) has been named Freshman of the Week.

Campbell averaged 22.5 points per game on 72 percent shooting from the field last week. She also averaged 11.0 rebounds per game as UIC won twice to extend its win streak to 11 games. The Flames win streak is the fourth longest win streak in the nation currently and ties for the longest win streak in program history.

The sophomore forward started the week with 22 points and nine rebounds in UIC’s 66-54 win at Northern Illinois. She was 8-of-14 from the field in the game and scored 17 of her points in the first half. On Friday, she had 23 points - on 10-of-11 shooting - and grabbed 13 rebounds in just 19 minutes of action in UIC’s 98-68 win over Roosevelt.

Campbell, playing her first season in the Horizon League, leads the conference in rebounding (10.8 per game) and field goal percentage (54.7%), while also ranking among League leaders in scoring and blocked shots.

UIC (11-2) opens League play this week with a trip to Green Bay (7-5) on Wednesday before hosting Youngstown State on Saturday.

Warren came-off-the-bench to score 11 points and grab four rebounds in Milwaukee’s 68-48 win at Omaha on Sunday. She knocked down a three-pointer at the end of the first half to complete UWM’s comeback from an early 11-point deficit and setup the Panthers dominating second half as Milwaukee outscored Omaha 38-18 in the second frame to halt Omaha’s five game win streak and hand them their first home loss of the season.

Milwaukee begins conference play on Saturday with a trip north to play at preseason conference favorite Green Bay.
