INDIANAPOLIS --- The Horizon League and ESPN announced Friday (Feb. 6) that the network has selected the Cleveland State University at Butler University men's basketball game on Feb. 28 for broadcast on ESPN2.
Tip-off will be at 12 p.m. ET in what will be the regular-season finale for both teams. The contest also will be a re-match of last year's League championship game at Hinkle Fieldhouse in which Butler defeated Cleveland State 70-55. Earlier this season, Butler edged the Vikings 50-48 in Cleveland on Zach Hahn's three-pointer as time expired in a game televised on ESPNU.
Butler (20-2, 11-1 Horizon League) currently sits atop the Horizon League standings and is ranked 11th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 and ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs bounced back from a loss Monday at second-place University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a 66-61 victory Thursday at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Cleveland State (16-8, 7-5) extended its winning streak to three games Thursday, rallying from an 11-point second-half deficit for a 66-63 victory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The Vikings, who were the League's preseason favorite, are in fifth place, one game behind Wright State University and two back of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
There are 11 Horizon League men's and women's basketball games remaining on ESPN networks this season, including tonight's women's game featuring Wright State at Butler at 9 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
