Cleveland State duo honored as Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Cleveland State sophomore Mark deSwardt has been named the Horizon League Men’s Swimmer of the Week, while Viking teammate Matt DiMasso has claimed Diver of the Week laurels for the period of Jan. 11-Jan. 17.

deSwardt racked up three individual wins as he led his Vikings to dual-meet wins over Xavier and Duquesne this past weekend.  The South African posted winning times of 1:52.50, 4:35.20 and 9:30.47 in the 200-yard butterfly and 500 and 1,000 freestyles.  deSwardt is awarded his third honor of the year, totaling eight overall in just his sophomore season.

DiMasso posted two first-place finishes in a pair of dual-meet victories last weekend.  His one-meter score tallied 273.40 while his three-meter point total scored in at 289.35.  DiMasso earns his first career weekly accolade.
