INDIANAPOLIS - Cleveland State sophomore Yannick Goossens and junior Sanda Bjelan have been named Horizon League Tennis Players of the Week for the period of Feb. 1-7.

Goossens, a native of Hague, Holland, helped Cleveland State go 2-0 over the weekend. He posted a win at No. 1 singles against Niagara (6-2, 6-7, 6-2) and scored another victory at No. 2 singles over St. Bonaventure (6-2, 6-7, 6-2). Goosens also paired with Chris Klepatz at No. 2 doubles to register 8-5 wins over Niagara and St. Bonaventure.

Bjelan, a native of Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, went 4-0 on the weekend with two wins at No. 3 singles and two more at No. 3 doubles. She recorded a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Niagara on Saturday and a 6-3, 6-3 win at St. Bonaventure on Sunday. Bjelan also teamed with Molly Drake to register an 8-1 win over St. Bonaventure.

The Cleveland State men and women are back in action on Friday when the Vikings travel to IPFW.
