CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cleveland State men's and women's tennis teams continued their community service efforts during the 2012-13 season, spending time at the Devon Oaks Assisted Living Facility in Westlake, Ohio.

"Every time we went to Devon Oaks, we tried to bring our positivity and brighten all of the residents' days," head coach Brian Etzkin said. "Many of the residents are far away from their families, so we tried our best to incorporate them into our `Viking Tennis Family'. The team really looked forward to going to Devon Oaks every other week and I think they were able to get just as much joy out of visiting the residents as the residents themselves."

Every other week throughout the season members from the men's and women's tennis teams ventured to Devon Oaks, where they spent quality time with the residents. During `Social Hours', the Vikings played board games, chatted and went on walks around the facility with the residents among other activities.

"My teammates and I really had a great time going to the Devon Oaks Facility and spending time with the residents and giving back to the community," women's tennis player Nicole Janek said. "We all had a great time getting to know the residents and I think the residents enjoyed getting to know us and spending time with us outside of their normal day-to-day activities."

Devon Oaks is a senior care facility that provides Alzheimer's care and assisted living to seniors located in Westlake, Ohio.
