Men's Tennis Championship Bracket | Women's Tennis Championship Bracket
INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso earned the top seed for the Horizon League men's tennis championship, while Cleveland State claimed the No. 1 seed on the women's side on Sunday afternoon. The Horizon League Tennis Championships will run April 29-May 1, at the Varsity Tennis Center on the the campus of the University of Michigan.
Valparaiso (20-5, 6-0 Horizon) went unbeaten in Horizon League play in the regular season, earning the program's first No. 1 seed on the men's side. Two-time defending conference champion Green Bay collected the No. 2 seed, while Northern Kentucky will be the No. 3 seed in its first year in the Horizon League. NKU will meet No. 6 UIC in the 1st Round, and No. 4 Youngstown State will take on No. 5 Cleveland State in the other Friday match.
In the women's bracket, Cleveland State (14-8, 8-1 Horizon) earned the No. 1 seed by virtue of its win at No. 2 UIC on Saturday. The Flames knocked off Youngstown State on Sunday, grabbing the second seed and sending the defending League champion Penguins to the No. 3 seed, where they will face No. 6 Oakland on Friday. The other 1st Round match will see No. 4 Milwaukee take on No. 5 Wright State in a rematch of a 4-3 Panthers victory.
All matches of the Horizon League Tennis Championships will be carried live on ESPN3. The Nos. 1 and 2 seeds will play on Saturday, April 30, with the championship matches taking place on Sunday, May 1.
