Cleveland State's Bailey Earns Golfer of the Week

Indianapolis—Cleveland State senior Andrew Bailey (Rocky River, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Golfer of the Week for the period of Mar. 19-Apr. 1.

Competing at the Memphis Intercollegiate, which featured four teams ranked inside the top 100 by Golfweek, Bailey finished in a tie for third-place with a two-over par 218 (72-76-70). It marks the fifth time in eight events this season that the senior has finished inside the top-five. His two-under par 70 is the fifth time he has shot par or better in the final round and the 14th time in 22 rounds this season. Bailey’s stroke average of 71.59 leads the League and ranks 63rd nationally.

Memphis, ranked No. 43 by Golfweek, won the event with an 874. Cleveland State finished 11th with a 909.

This marks the sixth career Golfer of the Week honor for Bailey, who sports a career scoring average of 73.30.

Cleveland State returns to action Apr. 12-13 at the Robert Kepler Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.

Gene Kiela III, Green Bay (So., Plymouth, Wis.) - At the Beu/Mussato Invitational, Kiela finished in a tie for 30th with rounds of 77-81-79 (237).
Conner Lash, Wright State (So., Centerville, Ohio) - Carded rounds of 72-73-77 (222) to finish in a tie for 37th place at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate.
Nick Seitz, Valparaiso (Fr., Xenia, Ohio) - After opening the Beu/Mussato Invitational with back-to-back 77’s, Seitz fired an even-par 72 in the final round to finish seventh. His final round score was tied for the second-lowest final round of the tournament.
Bryan Yeo, Youngstown State (Jr., LaGrange, Ohio) - At the Villanova Wildcat Invitational, Yeo posted an even-par 71 in the final round to go along with a pair of 75’s in the first and second rounds. His 54-hole total of 221 was good for eighth-place.
