INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State senior Andrew Bailey (Rocky River, Ohio) is the Horizon League Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Oakland senior Kassandra Komma (Niddatal Hessen, Germany) and Youngstown State junior Aislynn Merling (York, Pa) are the Horizon League Women’s Co-Golfers of the Week for the week of Oct. 9-15.

Bailey registered his second win of the fall at the Dayton Flyer Invitational. The two-time Horizon League Men’s Golfer of the Year fired rounds of 67-69 to finish at four-under par 136, three shots clear of second-place. The win was the fourth of Bailey’s career, tied for most victories in school history. The Vikings finished in second-place, their third runner-up finish this fall. This is Bailey’s fifth career Horizon League Golfer of the Week honor.

Both Komma and Merling finished at 229 to tie for fifth-place at the Toledo Rocket Classic.

Komma shot rounds of 76-79-74 to lead the Golden Grizzlies to a tenth-place finish. The fifth-place individual finish is her third career top-five finish. Her total score was 11-shots under her fall season 54-hole stroke average. Komma, who earlier this spring made two hole-in-ones in a practice round, marks the first time a Golden Grizzly has been named Horizon League Golfer of the Week.

Merling shot 80-72-77 to lead the Penguins to a ninth-place finish. Her level-par score of 72 in the second round was tied for the best round of the day and fourth best score of the tournament. This is Merling’s second career Horizon League Golfer of the Week honor, with both coming in a shared fashion this fall.

Manisa Isavas of Toledo shot 70-79-71-220 to take medalist honors.

The Viking men and Oakland women concluded their fall season while the Penguin women close out the fall portion of their schedule on Oct. 21-22 at the Dayton Fall Invitational.
