INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State sophomores Mike Derezic (Cleveland, Ohio) and Brad Stuver (Twinsburg, Ohio) led the Vikings to a 2-0 week and have been named the Horizon League men’s soccer Players of the Week.
It is the first POWT honor this season for Derezic and the second for Stuver, who also won for the week of Oct. 1.
The Vikings picked up League wins at Loyola and against UIC during the week, rallying to an overtime win against the Ramblers on Wednesday before shutting out the Flames at home in Sunday.
Against Loyola, Derezic potted the game-tying goal in the second half before finding the net again with the game-winning goal in the overtime period. He finished the week with a pair of goals, four points and three shots, two on goal.
Stuver, meanwhile, allowed a pair of goals to Loyola but also posted six saves. Against UIC, Stuver recorded his Horizon League-leading sixth shutout of the season, recording a pair of saves. He finished the week with two wins, one shutout and eight saves.
Derezic and Stuver will return to action on Saturday as the Vikings wrap up the regular season with a 1 p.m. ET matchup with the Phoenix in Green Bay.

Adam Bedell, Detroit (Jr., MF) - Scored two goals, including a game-winner as the Titans picked up League wins against Milwaukee and Loyola.
Jordan Aidoud, Valparaiso (Fr., MF) - Scored the game-winning goal in the Crusaders’ 2-1 League win over Wright State.
Seth Petrey, Wright State (Sr., MF) - Scored the game-winning goal in the Raiders’ 1-0 League win over Milwaukee.
Top Defensive Performers for the Week:
Nathan Steinwascher, Detroit (So., GK) - Made six saves and recorded one shutout as the Titans picked up League wins against Milwaukee and Loyola.
Jacob Bye, Wright State (Jr., GK) - Totaled eight saves, including six in a shutout League win against Milwaukee.
