INDIANAPOLIS – Cleveland State sophomore Dara Toman (Westerville, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week, while fellow sophomore pitcher Tess Sito (Elyria, Ohio has been tabbed the League Pitcher of the Week, for the week beginning Feb. 14.

The pair helped Cleveland State capture the Austin Peay Spring Invitational with a 3-1 mark over the weekend, knocking off Ball State, Austin Peay and Belmont.

Sito, the 2010 Horizon League Player of the Year, did not allow an earned run over 12.2 innings, recording two victories.  The sophomore went all seven innings in a 1-0 win over Ball State on Saturday, striking out seven to work around six hits - all singles.  Sito went 3.2 innings in the nightcap on Saturday, adding five more strikeouts.  In Sunday’s championship-clinching win, Sito tossed the final two innings.

At the plate, Sito added a homerun and two RBI in going 5-for-12.

Doman matched her teammate’s effort at the plate, also hitting .417 in a 5-for-12 performance.  However, the Westerville, Ohio, native slugged at a 1.063 clip, clubbing two homeruns and adding five RBI.  The sophomore provided the difference in the game against Ball State, crushing a solo homer in the fourth that held up the rest of the way.

In the nightcap, Doman went 2-for-3, scoring each time she reached base.  The second baseman put the game away with a two-run blast in the third, putting the Vikings up, 4-0, on their way to a 7-0 triumph.

After playing nine games in the first two tournaments of the year, the Vikings will take a break from competition this week, returning to play on Match 5-6 at the Ohio University Invitational.
