INDIANAPOLIS –Cleveland State sophomore forward Shalonda Winton has been named Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 7, her second honor this season.

Winton helped Cleveland State take sole possession of fourth place in the conference standings with two wins last week.

The Pittsburgh, Pa., native notched her ninth double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds against Valparaiso on Thursday.  She then scored 20 points with four rebounds and three blocked shots, helping the Vikings to a 69-64 win over second-place Butler on Saturday.

Winton shot 60 percent in the two games, connecting on 15-of-20 from the field.

The sophomore also had six assists and three steals.    

Cleveland State returns the road to take on Wright State Thursday in a 7pm ET contest.  The Vikings then head to Detroit for a 2pm tip Saturday.
