ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Starting on April 13, 2015, 10 elite NCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches will take part in an auction to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society. The online auction, open to the public, will offer bidders the unique opportunity to attend a “Beat Cancer” two-day event presented by Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan. Auction winners and their guests will spend time with their favorite coach at a private dinner and golf outing at the prestigious Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., on Sunday, May 31 and Monday, June 1, 2015.

Coaches taking part in the auction, include:

  • Steve Alford – UCLA
  • Rick Barnes – University of Tennessee
  • John Beilein – University of Michigan
  • John Calipari – University of Kentucky
  • Bob Huggins – West Virginia University
  • Greg Kampe – Oakland University
  • Tom Izzo – Michigan State University
  • Sean Miller – University of Arizona
  • Josh Pastner – University of Memphis
  • Roy Williams – University of North Carolina


Those interested can place their bid at coachesbeatcancer.org or text beatcancer to the number 24700. The auction will be open from April 13 – May 1, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Bidding starts at $10,000 for three golfers with the selected coach making a foursome. The 10 winning bidders, along with their two guests, will enjoy an exclusive experience to network, dine and golf with their selected coach at one of the world’s top golf courses, Oakland Hills Country Club, host of six U.S. Opens, three PGA Championships and the 2004 Ryder Cup. The package also includes a one-night hotel stay for each guest in their own room at MotorCity Casino Hotel, an AAA Four-Diamond award winning hotel in Detroit.

All proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society. Funds raised will support the Society’s mission to save lives and finish the fight against cancer.
