Hawley paced the Panthers to a third-place finish Friday (Sept. 7) at the Crusader Open with a third-place finish of his own. His time of 20:10 was just 19 seconds off of the winning time.
FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Laura Rolf
Valparaiso
Junior, Rochester, Mich.
Rolf won the Crusader Open for the second consecutive year with a time of 17:51. Her time was the second-fastest 5K of her career, and was over a minute faster than that of the next-closest finisher.

Chris Honig

Jr., Glen Ellyn, Ill.
Honig earned fourth-place in the 60-runner field at the Crusader Open Friday with a time of 20:12. His effort led Valpo to a second-place team finish.
Evan Firestone
Wright State
Fr., Yellow Springs, Ohio
Firestone posted a sixth place finish at the Crusader Open, and tied for the team-best time at 20:13. Firestone was the fourth Horizon League competitor to cross the finish fline, joining teammate Isaish Kessio as the first two freshman to finish the race.
Jim Ramson

Ramson was YSU's top male finisher in his first collegiate meet Saturday (Sept. 8) at the Tommy Evans Invitational, where he finished 16th in the four-mile race with a time of 21:48.

Allison Craine

Fr., Austintown, Ohio
For the second straight week, Craine was CSU's top finisher as she earned 19th place at the Crusader Open with a time of 20:45. She was also the top freshman finisher of the Horizon League schools competing in the race.
Holly Nearman
Milwaukee
Sr., Monroe, Wis.
Nearman placed fifth at the Crusader Open with a time of 19:23, and led the Panthers to a third-place team finish, ahead of four other Horizon League foes.
Kayla Witmer
Youngstown State
Fr., Columbiana, Ohio
Witmer led YSU's squad with a 5K time of 20:24 to finish 15th at the Tommy Evans Invitational Saturday.
