INDIANAPOLIS –Horizon League cross country teams are gearing up for the 2010 NCAA Regionals on Saturday after competing in the Horizon League Championship two weeks ago when Butler took home both the men’s and women’s titles. HL teams will compete at two NCAA Regional sites, the Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Oakland University, and the Midwest Regional hosted by Bradley University.

Butler, Cleveland State, Detroit, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Valparaiso, Wright State and Youngstown State will compete at the Great Lakes Regional in Rochester, Mich. at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course.  The women’s 6K race will begin at noon (EST) with the men’s 10K following at 1:15 pm (EST).

Loyola and UIC will travel to Peoria, Ill. for the Midwest Regional taking place at the Newman Golf Course. The women’s 6K race will begin at 11 am (CST) with the men’s 10K following with a start time of 12:15 pm (CST).

The top two teams at each of the nine regionals will qualify for the NCAA Championship. Thirteen other teams will be at-large selections chosen by the Division I Track and Field and Cross-Country subcommittee. Automatic qualifying individuals will be determined by the top four regional finishers not on an advancing team. The subcommittee will also select two at-large individuals to continue onto the National Championship meet taking place in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 22.
